PackSmart operates entirely on your physical smartphone. There are no remote user databases, tracking analytics, flight scraping APIs, or cloud synchronization servers.
Your trip checklists, luggage weight allocations, and item inventories never leave your device.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Because PackSmart functions without cloud connectivity, we never collect, harvest, or monetize:
- Zero GPS or Real-Time Location Tracking: We do not track where you travel, airport locations, or itinerary stops.
- Zero Personal Identity or Travel Itineraries: No passport numbers, visa details, booking reference numbers, names, or emails are collected.
- Zero Packing Inventory Telemetry: We do not inspect what items you pack or your luggage weight entries.
- Zero Advertising Identifiers: We do not utilize advertising tracking tokens (GAID/IDFA).
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
All trip data is saved solely in your device's sandboxed local application storage:
- Trip Profiles: Trip name, destination label, climate/weather presets, trip duration (days), and luggage type (carry-on, checked bag).
- Checklist Items: Item titles, categories (clothing, toiletries, tech, documents), quantity counters, weight estimates, and packed/unpacked checkboxes.
- Weight Tracking: Bag tare weights, airline baggage limit thresholds, and calculated total luggage weights.
- User Settings: Measurement units (kg vs lbs) and UI theme preferences.
4. Device Permissions Explained
PackSmart requires minimal, optional permissions:
- File Storage / Document Access (Optional): Used only when you explicitly export a packing list to CSV/JSON or share a printable checklist.
- Local Notifications (Optional): Used solely to remind you on scheduled departure dates to finalize packing. No network requests are made.
5. Data Ownership, Backups & Deletion
You have complete control over all packing records:
- Instant Deletion: You can delete any individual trip, item, or reset all templates in app settings.
- Permanent Removal: Uninstalling PackSmart permanently removes all checklists from your device.
6. GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Legal Compliance
PackSmart fully respects global privacy regulations:
- Data Ownership: You retain complete ownership of your travel data on your device.
- No Data Sale: We never sell, rent, or share personal travel information with third parties.
7. Children's Online Privacy (COPPA)
PackSmart is safe for families and travellers of all ages. We do not collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
